Built for UK family court

Court documents, structured the way the court expects them.

caseM8 helps litigants in person and McKenzie Friends build Scott Schedules, Witness Statements and Police Evidence Letters - clearly, factually, and with safeguarding built in from the first word.

Free safeguarding tools, always. No legal advice given — ever.

From £25, one-time — no subscription, ever.

72%

of private law family court cases in England & Wales had at least one side representing themselves, April–June 2025 — MoJ Family Court Statistics Quarterly. caseM8 was built for that reality.

Three steps. In your own words.

No blank page, no legal jargon to decode first — just tell caseM8 what happened.

1

Tell your story

Type or speak what happened, in your own words — no particular format required to start.

2

Guided review & safeguarding check

Clarifying questions fill the gaps, opinions get flagged separately from fact, and every field is checked for risk as you go.

3

Court-ready document

Structured the way the court expects it — ready to copy or print once you have access.

Three documents. Done properly.

No generic drafting. Each flow is built around the exact structure family courts expect to see.

01 · Scott Schedule

Scott Schedule

Guided, item-by-item entry that produces a properly formatted schedule — no missed columns, no inconsistent numbering.

02 · Witness Statement

Witness Statement

Keeps fact and opinion clearly separated as you write, so what you submit holds up to scrutiny.

03 · Police Letter

Police Evidence Request

A clear, correctly addressed request letter for evidence — built from what actually happened, not assumptions.

A note on bundling: caseM8 helps you write these documents — it doesn't compile them into a single paginated court bundle. Whether you need one isn't always down to you: bundling responsibility can fall to whichever side has legal representation, or to the court itself, depending on your case. If you do need to prepare one, a McKenzie Friend or a dedicated bundle tool can help with that last step.

What that actually saves you.

The same document, two ways.

Built for three kinds of user

Same safeguarding foundation. A different experience depending on who's using it.

Litigants in person

Stressed, self-representing, and doing this for the first time. caseM8 keeps the process calm and structured.

McKenzie Friends

Supporting someone through court without formal legal standing — a faster, more reliable way to help draft.

Pro bono & independent lawyers

A consistent starting point for document structure, freeing up time for the judgement calls that need it.

Safeguarding isn't a feature. It's the foundation.

Every document flow sits on top of the same non-negotiable layer — free, regardless of tier or role.

  • Emergency detection runs per field, not just at final review
  • Persistent disclaimer and referral panel throughout
  • Fact and opinion flagged separately, automatically
  • Never invents facts. Never gives legal advice.
Witness Statement — draft
"On the 14th, he did not arrive at the agreed time."
⚑ flagged as opinion — "he was clearly trying to upset me"
"I have attached the message thread as Exhibit B."
⚑ safeguarding check — no risk indicators detected

Your words, handled honestly.

What actually happens to what you type or say — confirmed directly, not assumed.

Questions people ask before they start.

Is this legal advice?

No. caseM8 is a formatting aid — it helps structure what you tell it into the format a court expects. It never invents facts, and it doesn't tell you what to argue or how your case should go. Always review the result yourself, or with someone qualified to advise you, before relying on it.

Will the court accept a document I made with an AI tool?

Courts care about the document meeting the required structure and being an accurate, honest account in your own words — not about what tool helped you format it. caseM8 builds each document to match what the court expects to see (see our comparison above), and never adds anything you didn't tell it.

What if my situation doesn't fit neatly into these three document types?

caseM8 currently covers Scott Schedules, Witness Statements, and Police Evidence Request letters — the documents most litigants in person and McKenzie Friends need most often. If your case needs something else, this may not be the right tool for that particular document yet.

Do I need to know legal terminology to use this?

No — that's the point. You tell caseM8 what happened in your own words, and it asks clarifying questions where it needs more detail, then structures the result the way the court expects it.

Is my information safe?

Yes — see exactly what happens to what you type or say, confirmed directly rather than assumed, on our Facts & Info page.

What's your refund policy?

See our Refunds & cancellation policy for the full details.
